Eddie Salter is recognized as one of the foremost authorities on turkey and deer hunting. Eddie began turkey hunting at the age of eight, near his home in Evergreen, AL. Gaining from the teachings of his father and grandfather, he called in and harvested his first gobbler at age ten. As he grew older, Eddie’s hunting interests broadened to include deer hunting. Eddie began competitive turkey calling in 1981. He has amassed an impressive list of victories, including four Alabama state championships and two World Championships. Eddie was voted one of the top ten sportsmen in 1986 and 1989. In 1985 he created Eddie Salter Calls, Inc., where he produced a line of turkey & deer calls, scents, and videos. Eddie sold the company in 1994. In 1997 he joined the Pro Staff of Hunter’s Specialties, where his knowledge of turkeys and turkey calls is invaluable. Eddie now travels the country sharing his experience with other hunters and promoting H.S. products. Eddie recommends becoming proficient on several different calls. Learning to read a turkey and communicate with it is important. In 1999, Eddie took four Pope & Young deer in one season. In Eddies seminar, he will be showing video footage and explaining how he was so successful last season. During the final 15 minutes of his seminar he will be answering questions about turkey hunting.
