Today Joella Bates wears many hats as she promotes the outdoors lifestyles while doing sales and marketing for outdoor companies. She uses her formal college education and experinece from over 45 years of outdoor participation to inspire others to "grab life by the horns" and give the wild outdoors a try. Her most recent accomplishment of becoming the first woman in the world to successfully bow hunt the Big 5 of Africa and do it in a single safari of less than one month was another world record.
Joella is a freelancer writer, photographer, professional archer, wildlife biologist, hunter education, an archery instructor, bowhunter, shooter, and fishing fanatic. With 5 3-D archery world championship titles, 60 species taken with a bow and arrow, and as an inductee into the University on TN at Martin's Athletic Hall of Fame for her accomplishments as the university's first four year letter person in the sport of small bore and air rifle, her skills and credentials are proven. Joella's seminar will teach you tips to help you prepare for the unique challenges for hunting animals that hunt back. It will help you prepare mentally, physically, emotionally, and help you select the right equipment that will stand up to the challenge. Joella will share while showing footage and photos from her record setting Big 5 experience.
